Soil: Ordovician material approximately 460million years old. It contains basic volcanic material; sandstone, siltstone breccia and conglomerate derived from basalt and andesite
Season: A Cool wet season. Vines were shoot thinned and leaf plucked to reduce disease pressure and keep canopies open and dry.
Winemaking Notes: A field blend off our ChaLou Vineyard of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gwertztraminer, Riesling and Arneis. Grapes were destemmed and cofermented on skins with wild yeast. Left on skins for 143days befor pressing to saintless steel.
Allowed to overwinter and settle before bottling without any filtration or fining, leaving it slightly cloudy in the bottle.
