These vineyards are biodynamically farmed, and the soil is rich in chalk and chalky clay (marl), with pockets of flint and schist. Its the chalkiness that drives the wines striking, racy and intensely saline mineralitythat energy, freshness and zingy, citric linewhile the clay provides balancing fruit weight and texture.
