Sons’ of Eden Notus Grenache 2022

This is the second release of this new addition to the Sons of Eden stable, named after the Greek God of the Southerly wind, Notus. After basking in the warm summer climate of the Barossa Valley the vines welcome the arrival of the cooling Southerly wind which marks the transition from summer to autumn and so coincides with the last stage in the ripening process of Grenache.

Fruit was sourced from vines 60 to 100 years plus in age with 25% whole bunch included in the ferment and maturation taking place in large oak barrels for 6 months.

Very deep bright dark red black core with a vibrant purple red hue. Elevated dark raspberry and plum scents meld into red liquorice, dried herb, vanilla pod and subtle spicy earth notes. Rich, succulent and fleshy, the palate boasts superb concentration and power with luscious dark raspberry, liquorice, ripe cherry and blueberry fruits engulfing the mouth. Subtle infusions of dried herbs, scorched earth and spicy vanilla pod also chime in. Silky smooth tannins combined with ample freshness and a plush texture lead into a very long, highly addictive conclusion. Drink over the next 5-6 years.
